Prof. Paul Dirmeyer is part of a scoping study of observational facilities to advance Earth system monitoring and modeling, with emphasis on land surface-atmosphere interactions and processes. This effort is a step towards the long-term goal to establish and maintain an operational network of environmental stations across North America producing consistent and complete observations below, above and at the land surface for years to come.
